Our Story
Every love story is beautiful, but ours is our favorite. Here's how our journey began and led us to this special day.
First Meeting
We met at work at the Tampa Airport during work - through mutual friends. McKenna kept driving by the bagroom where Christian was working (more than normal) and he took notice.
First Date
Our first official date was a dinner date at the infamous International Plaza (right next to the airport) where they got burgers for dinner and concluded their evening at the bar.
Meeting the Families
Christian met McKenna's parents, Eric and Christine at Applebee's (fancy like) just a little before officially dating. Apparently, the dating stage was eminent. McKenna met Christian's parents, Sean and Linda, in March of 2019 just before Christian and McKenna were going to play catch in field by the house he grew up in - and she met his brother Nick (aka Jet) shortly after when they went bowling.
Moving In Together
The ubiquitous "slow move in" where it first starts with a few t-shirts, then the toothbrush, then a full week's worth of clothes, then the video console, at that point, you know it actually happened.
The Virgin Cruise
We went on a Virgin Voyage cruise together to explore the Western Caribbean Islands. Many memories made!
The Proposal
Christian’s family takes an annual vacation to Tennessee, and this year was special — it was the first time McKenna joined them. She had no idea what was coming. To her, it was just another fun trip filled with laughs, hikes, and time together. While exploring Cades Cove, they stopped at an old church, and McKenna, jokingly, said, “C’mon, it’s our last chance to get married!” — not realizing how close to the mark she actually was. At the very next stop — an open field with sweeping views of the mountains — there were no buildings, just sky, grass, and stillness. They pulled over and got out to take a few photos. As they posed for the picture, Christian suddenly dropped to one knee. McKenna thought it was just a dramatic photo op — until he pulled out a ring. She was stunned. Speechless. Overwhelmed. What started as just another family trip turned into the moment she said yes.
Wedding Day
We chose this date because - to us - it was a great way to show the count down! 3 - 2 - 1!
I knew she was the one when she laughed at my terrible jokes and still wanted to see me the next day.
He makes me feel like the best version of myself, and I couldn't imagine my life without him.
Fun Facts About Us
- We have a King Charles puppy named Jasper who will be our ring bearer (if he is satisfied with the amount of treats required to perform the task).
- When we've traveled to places all over the country together, including Arizona, Hawaii, Minnesota, and Tennessee. Also, many of the islands in the Western Caribbean.
- We both love cooking pizza and have a tradition of making homemade pasta every Sunday.
